Angels and Grotesques is an exhibition created in response to the historical architecture of Coventry's St Mary’s Guildhall and the surrounding area, with a particular focus on the hidden gems of this area which are the angels, grotesques and gargoyles that are scattered all over these historic buildings. This exhibition presents a series of ten images as well as a bespoke sound piece. These images re-imagine iconic Coventry landmarks into surreal architectural angels and demons. The images use architecture from Coventry’s past and present merged together to tell a story of the city’s history while looking ahead to what the future may hold.
