Emergence

Emergence is a series reflecting on the impact of lockdowns and isolation during the Covid pandemic, and what the future might hold beyond. Landscapes and structures in my hometown of Coventry which are personal and familiar to myself have been distorted to become unfamiliar and alien. This symbolises the effects of detachment with the outside world and loss of personal identity that the pandemic had on me and many others. This is contrasted with various shapes rising in the sky some of which are sky blue in colour which is symbolic of Coventry’s identity. These act as symbols of hope for what the future might hold.
